Ornithological Field Notes Spring 2000: Directions

23 April Portage Co. Red-necked Grebe by Haans Petruschke

Directions:

From S.R. 43 south where it goes under the Ohio Turnpike. Follow S.R. 43 south 1.0 miles to the junction of S.R. 14 and S.R. 303.

Left onto 14/303 (southeast) 0.3 miles to where S.R.303 splits and goes east.

Left (east) on S.R. 303 3.0 miles. Just across the Upper Cuyahoga River, to Price Rd.

Right (south) on Price Rd. 0.7 miles. Follow Price as it takes a hard right, Weaver goes straight.

After the right turn follow Price 0.7 miles under a green conveyor and a 90 deg. left turn to the south. The lake is on the right.

The lake is on private property and fenced so you will have to look from the road. The entire lake is visible from the road so there is no need to cross the fence. The bird may be anywhere on the lake.
