Additions to the Aves.Net domain during the latter half 2000

Addition of an identification quiz.
A simple search engine has been added to Aves.Net as an added navigational aid. This search targets files within the domain Aves.Net. A query such as
Snowy Owl
will first look for the appearance of those words in a URL title or a page title. Then it will proceed to search on Snowy and then Owl in the same way. Snowy Owl within the text of article will therefore appear down the list of returns. In the above case about 15th. An additional keyword can help improve the return.
If you are interested in references to sightings for a particular species within the birding news pages try
Snowy Owl sightings
In this example, although pages for Northern Hawk Owl and Great Gray Owl appear one and two, the next 8 returns are for references to sightings of the species.
I expect this service to improve as more keywords are incorporated within the pages.

A support page for the latest issue of Ohio Birds & Natural History Vol. 1 No. 4 has been added. This includes a link to images of Ohio's first "Pink-sided" Dark-eyed Junco.
Several images added to the Ohio Gull Photo Index
The link library to Image and Sounds Libraries has been extensively revised; (60 fresh links).
An additional 60 species accounts have been added under the listing for Birds of Ohio bringing the total to 205.
All range maps now appear within their own directory //aves.net/ohiomaps/. The default page has been revised with eleven new maps added.
Conference information has been updated for the 2000 annual meeting of the Inland Bird Banding Association
New entry under Ohio Birds & Natural History - Summary page for Vol. 1 No. 3 includes table of contents and introduction to the season.
